In order to prevent Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara from presenting the 2025 budget, 27 MPs who support Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike blocked his admission to the State House of Assembly on Wednesday morning.

In order to carry out a crucial clause of the Supreme Court's ruling, which calls for presenting the 2025 budget to a duly elected State Assembly, Governor Fubara reportedly appeared at the Assembly early in the morning.

But according to Assembly employees who want to remain anonymous, there was no official word of the Governor's visit.

"The Governor was supposed to attend the Assembly today (Wednesday), but I'm not aware of that. The Rt. Hon. Speaker would have told us if there was such information. We don't currently know about his visit," a source said.
