Tragic Turn in Ogun: Police Inspector's Death Raises Questions

A police inspector, Ajele Oloyede, on Thursday, reportedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a ceramics company in Igbesa, Ogun State, where he was stationed as part of the security detail.

According to state police spokeswoman Omolola Odutola, Tolorunloju Stephen, an officer from Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos, learned of the event at approximately 1:20 p.m. after returning from Ikeja.
Inside the security office, Stephen allegedly discovered Oloyede with his head resting on a table.
The inspector reassured Stephen that he was doing well when he was questioned about it.
Odutola stated After setting his pistol and bag on the table, Stephen entered the bathroom.
But a moment later, a gunshot was heard.
Stephen allegedly discovered Oloyede laying in a pool of blood, according to Odutola.
The injured cop was rushed right away to Ota General Hospital with the assistance of private security guards, where the on-duty physician declared him dead, according to Odutola.

When police arrived on the scene, they found the deceased's firearm. His family has been notified, and his body has been sent to Ota General Hospital for an autopsy.
