1,000 Jobs for Northerners: Minister Amaechi Reveals Strategic Employment Initiative
While in office, former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi ordered the hiring of 1,000 Northerners.

During his tenure, Amaechi claimed to have given the Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) instructions to hire 1,000 people from the north.

This was revealed during an Abuja event by the former governor of Rivers State, who served as a minister under former President Muhammadu Buhari.

He revealed that the majority of NIMASA's workforce was from the South, which is why he ordered 1,000 Northerners to be hired.

Amaechi claims that because of the extreme poverty in the country's north, he issued the order for the massive employment.
