Rivers Will Emerge Stronger From Political Crisis, Says Fubara
Siminalayi Fubara, the suspended governor of Rivers State, has reassured citizens that the state's prolonged political crisis will ultimately make the populace stronger rather than weaker.

Fubara said this at an Eid-El-Fitr Sallah visit to his private home in Port Harcourt, where he hosted Muslim leaders from 20 Islamic-based organizations, including the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.

"This season is one of love, sharing, and sacrifice," Governor Fubara said in his speech to the delegation, encouraging them and his supporters to have faith in God's plan. Through your prayers, you have made a tremendous sacrifice and have come to share in our suffering. Everything happens for a reason, according to Christian doctrine, and I firmly feel that this circumstance is guiding us toward a higher goal.

Fubara made this statement when he received Muslim leaders from 20 Islamic-based groups, including the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, at his private residence in Port Harcourt during an Eid-El-Fitr Sallah visit.

Addressing the delegation, Governor Fubara urged them and his supporters to trust in God’s process, saying: “This season is one of love, sharing, and sacrifice. You have come to share in our pain and have made a great sacrifice through your prayers. As Christians, we believe that everything happens for a purpose, and I strongly believe that this situation is leading us toward a greater purpose.”

Although he expressed regret for not being able to formally engage with the Muslim community during their festivities, he pledged that once the present difficulties are overcome, the government's engagement with religious organizations will be enhanced.

Additionally, he gave the leaders his word that their outstanding requests would be fulfilled once the crisis was over.

Governor Fubara invoked religious history to highlight the importance of patience and endurance, stating, "If God could be patient with Noah to allow even the snail to enter the Ark, then patience remains an essential virtue in our struggle."

Additionally, he warned his followers and the Rivers people to stay away from certain forces that aimed to destabilize the state in order to avoid becoming victims of those who wish to engineer conflict by inciting provocative activities.

"They want to cause trouble and deprive people of their livelihoods." We won't permit that. To make sure that our state continues to serve as a model for other Nigerian states, we will continue to conduct our business in a peaceful manner and with respect for the authorities granted by the constitution," he said.

Assuring Governor Siminalayi Fubara of their prayers and support as he navigates the state's current political issues, Alhaji Nasir Awhelebe Uhor previously spoke on behalf of the Muslim community.

The majority of Muslims in Rivers State support Governor Fubara because of his inclusive style of governance and acceptance of Islam, according to Alhaji Uhor.

He pointed out that Governor Fubara recognized the state as having a Christian majority while allowing for inclusivity, in contrast to the previous administration that proclaimed Rivers to be a state that was exclusively Christian.

Uhor told the governor that Allah praises patience and urged him to maintain his resolve.

According to him, Islam's teachings—which hold that the Creator tests His people through wealth, power, and authority—align with the current difficulties.

He emphasized that Governor Fubara has been operating efficiently in spite of the situation and urged President Bola Tinubu to review the emergency rule in Rivers State and reinstate the governor's full authority.

Prayers for suspended Governor Fubara, his family, Rivers State, and Nigeria in general were said during the visit.
