The first-quarter general meeting of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria – Young Pharmacists Group (PSN-YPG), Lagos Chapter, was recently sponsored by CHI Pharma, a part of Tropical General I Group.

Young pharmacists gathered at the event on March 29, 2025, to talk about important facets of proactive healthcare, with a particular emphasis on the advantages of daily supplementing for long-term health.

Bunmi Olugbeja, the keynote speaker and CEO of Primeah Pharmacy, gave a perceptive talk that focused on the importance of daily supplementation in addressing the vitamin inadequacies that are common in contemporary life.

Olugbeja emphasized how modern eating patterns, the effects of drugs, and food processing techniques can deplete vital vitamins and minerals, resulting in nutritional deficiencies that may have an effect on long-term health.

"All micronutrients, except vitamin D, must be acquired from outside sources," Pharm. Olugbeja said. But things like overcooking, soil erosion, and drug use frequently keep people from getting the nutrients they need for good health.

Both patients and healthcare professionals must be aware of the possibility of drug-induced nutrient depletion and take into account dietary changes or supplements as an essential component of all-encompassing treatment regimens.
