Why Stanley Nweze Thinks Dating for Money is a Poverty Trap

Nollywood actor Stanley Nweze has expressed his criticism of women who date men only because they are wealthy on social media.

The actor voiced his dissatisfaction of the way some women think that love or compatibility is correlated with income in an open post on his Instagram page. Nweze claims that these choices are the result of what he terms "poverty mentality."

He maintained that establishing financial ties instead of emotional ties or a same set of ideals betrays a narrow-minded and superficial worldview.

Since then, the actor's remarks have sparked debate on the internet, with some people supporting his viewpoint and others holding that financial stability is a legitimate factor in contemporary partnerships.

In other developments, Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson and Angela Okorie have officially called it quits on their long-running feud.

After learning of Mercy's alleged health issues, Angela told her fans during a recent Instagram Live session on Tuesday, June 3, that she had made the decision to forgive her.

She chastised Mercy, a mother of four, for employing religious rhetoric that, in Angela's opinion, doesn't match her behavior and urged her to make amends with everyone she may have previously harmed.

Mercy Johnson is reportedly very ill, so I've decided to forgive her. During the broadcast, Angela stated, "She needs to stop using religious phrases that don't reflect her true self and ask for forgiveness from those she has wronged."

In the past, Angela Okorie gained widespread attention for her severe accusations against Mercy, claiming that she had lost weight as a result of not having "blood to drink."

When Angela openly accused Mercy and her late mother of witchcraft in 2024, it caused a commotion. The same charges were made during a live session she conducted with a person claiming to be Mercy's old best friend.
