50 for 50: Obi Cubana hosts star-studded birthday extravaganza

On April 12, 2025, Obinna Iyiegbu, also known as Obi Cubana, a nightlife businesswoman, celebrated her fiftieth birthday in a spectacular fashion in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria.

"50 for 50," a party-themed event, brought together influence, music, luxury, and faith.

Obi, the founder and CEO of Cubana Group, brought in his new era with a straightforward yet impactful Instagram post that he called Okpataozueora1. Wearing magnificent traditional clothing, he wrote, "12.04.25 Congratulations, Obi Cubana. Fifty years! 50 for 50.

Ebele Iyiegbu, also known as Lush Eby, celebrated her spouse by sharing a photo of him dressed elegantly and writing, "You are my gift, Dim oma!"

The birthday boy's residence has been illuminated by a constant stream of highlife singers, dancers, and cultural performers since the celebration began long before the major event. A live performance by Anyidons, who debuted a moving tribute song called "Obi Cubana Special (Okpole Nwa Mama)" in honor of the man of the moment, was one of the highlights.

Samsung Nigeria held an exclusive party called "The Night Before 50" in Abuja on Friday, April 11. On Cubana's behalf, the tech company distributed 50 Samsung S25 smartphones to the visitors.

Staff, colleagues, and family welcomed the celebrant into his new era at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel following the all-white celebration.

With a Holy Communion and Thanksgiving Service on Saturday, the main event got off to a spiritual start.

Cubana and Gold Bar Whiskey announced the "Golden Age with Gold Bar" campaign ahead of the main event. This interactive birthday promotion offered artists the chance to create a unique 50th birthday logo for a chance to win N2 million, a luxury car, and VIP access to celebrations in Abuja, Lagos, and a few other cities throughout the world.

Meanwhile, gifts kept flooding in for the socialite. When Ituma Chukwuemeka of Enviable Transport Limited arrived with two trailers full of fifty brand-new tricycles, it was the star gift moment.

In addition, CIG Motors, under the direction of Chairman Diana Cheng and Jubril of Lagos, surprised the celebration with fifty brand-new minibuses that bore the celebrant's visage.

2,000 cartons of tomatoes were donated by Sonia Foods, and the celebrant's wife gave outfits, bags, and wigs to 50 lucky people.

Obi had been given fifty Bibles and fifty rams earlier in the week. He also described how his brother showed up carrying a backpack full of money.

The main event, which took place at the Transcorp Hilton, was an absolute extravaganza. The hall was turned into a black, white, and gold visual symphony. At key locations were glowing floral centerpieces, golden seats, crystal chandeliers, and enormous photos of the birthday boy.

Kennedy Okonkwo, Cubana Chief Priest, AY Makun, E-Money, Daddy Freeze, Jowizaza, Zubby Michael, and Kanayo Kanayo are among the attendees.
