TomTom rewards creatives with cash gifts
After a talent competition in Agege, Lagos, candy company TomTom gave monetary gifts and marketing assistance to two aspiring musicians.

According to a statement from the brand, the "Breathe Through It Verse Challenge" was started to provide young people with a platform for self-expression and access to organized mentorship in the creative sector.

According to a statement from Abidemi Ajayi, Category Manager, Gum and Candy, Cadbury West Africa, the company's dedication to encouraging grassroots creativity informed its choice to recognize two competitors—Lukuman "Leekee" Kamilu and Haruna "Dannyboi" Mohammed—rather than just one at the Agege edition of the TomTom "BTI Verse Challenge."

"What we saw in Agege was absolutely astounding." Ajayi said, "These young talents brought it all to the stage: the energy, the message, and the artistry." "We at TomTom are steadfastly dedicated to providing the next generation with a voice. One winner isn't always sufficient, as demonstrated by Leekee and Dannyboi's performances.

As the overall winner, Leekee received a N1 million cash award, a six-month supply of TomTom candy bars, and a spot at the TomTom Breathe Academy, a center for brand development and creative mentoring.

A six-month supply of TomTom candy bars, N300,000, and a spot in the Breathe Academy were awarded to Dannyboi, who was selected first runner-up.

The Agege competition, which took place at the Amoo Football Pitch on Saturday, May 10, attracted more than 100 competitors in what the organizers called "a fiercely contested showdown of lyrical power, creativity, and authenticity."

Rapper Candy Bleakz, afro-street musician Small Doctor, and John Paul, the music director of the Catholic Church's Isolo Deanery, served as judges. The judges commended the entrants' depth of skill and inventiveness.

The challenge, called Barz on Wheelz, is a component of TomTom's talent-discovery tour throughout Lagos.

On Saturday, May 17, it will continue its trip via Oshodi, and on Saturday, May 24, it will travel to Ikorodu, according to TomTom.
