5 Reasons Why Tinubu's Re-election Seems Unstoppable, According to Experts
According to Tanko Yakasai, the founding member of the Arewa Consultative Forum and an older statesman, President Bola Tinubu is still the front-runner for the 2027 election.

Yakasai told NAN that Tinubu has the strongest support of any politician at the moment.

"Bola Tinubu is the president of Nigeria right now, and he has the support of his governors and ministers," Yakasai stated.

"Who else possesses all the necessary qualities to enter the race with the kind of strength and endurance to outperform Tinubu?"

Yakasai claimed the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) controls most states and still enjoys backing from governors in opposition parties.

Yakasai stated, "I have not seen anything that will prevent him from winning the next election, so for now, the odds are in his favor. We should all wait and see if the situation changes significantly."

"As far as I can tell, he hasn't done anything wrong, and the north cannot choose the nation's president on its own."

According to the elder statesman, the northern political elite has not yet reached a formal agreement on 2027.

"I haven't heard anyone from the Arewa Consultative Forum make any proposals regarding the 2027 presidential election," he stated.

Since not all parts of the north have taken a stance on this, the position referred to as the Northern Elders Forum or Arewa Consultative Forum is just the opinion of a few individuals.

Nigerians should wait until the region formally adopts a stance, he said, adding that Tinubu's path to reelection has been made even simpler by internal conflicts in opposition parties.

Yakasai urged lawmakers to put the interests of the people first, but he declined to evaluate Tinubu's performance.

"I will advise our politicians to play the game based on their ideologies and programs, and they should view politics as a dynamic game," he stated.

Instead of aiming to become ministers, governors, or presidents, let them imagine how they would like the nation to be.

"We won't improve after becoming all of these if nothing is done for the benefit of the nation.

"They should avoid religious and ethnic politics because they have kept us down for so long by not making our nation the center of our politics."

Godswill Akpabio, the president of the Senate, declared on Friday that Akwa Ibom's political groups had all merged into one.

The movement will support President Bola Tinubu's, state governor Umo Eno's, and his own reelection campaigns, he continued.
