Saudi prevents Sheikh Gumi from performing 2025 Hajj

According to the DOROTV, Sheikh Gumi, an Islamic cleric from Kaduna, has been barred by Saudi Arabian authorities from participating in the 2025 Hajj.


Despite having granted him a visa, the cleric said in a statement on his Facebook page on Monday that he had returned to Saudi Arabia and that the Saudi government was "uncomfortable" with his being in the Holy Land.

He further claimed that the Nigerian authorities had agreed to promptly take up the concerns with the Saudi authorities while requesting for prayers for the safe return of other pilgrims and the peace and prosperity of Nigeria.

"Thank God, I've already finished my Hajj 2025 and I'm back home in our dear Nigeria," the post said. "And perform the Hajj, i.e. pilgrimage, and the Umra for Allah, but if you are prevented, (slaughter) the offering available with you (meaning, you are then free from Hajj or Umra," Allah stated in Q2/196.


“For some obvious reasons, my views about world politics, the Saudi authorities are uncomfortable about my presence in the Hajj after giving me the Hajj visa. We appreciate that the Nigerian authorities have promised to bring up the issue with the Saudi officials right away. That is what our beloved democracy and freedom are all about.

"I can now focus on my farming and health needs." We should keep praying for our beloved country's peace, prosperity, and the safe return of all pilgrims.
