WizKid Ft. Drake - Hush Up The Silence

Wizkid is currently a Nigerian artiste who is embracing the Caribbean template, and giving off his own redefinition of it.

 

Nigerian star Wizkid and Drake released a hit called “Hush Up The Silence” and it has made its way online. This is the third collaboration between the two artists, with Drake hopping on Wizkid’s “Ojuelegba” remix with Skepta in the summer of 2015, before putting the singer on his immense #1 song “One Dance.” “Hush Up The Silence” is billed as WizKid featuring Drake, though the details of its release are unclear, as it surfaced online unofficially this morning.

 

Sorry music patriots, Wizkid is not doing it the way you think he will. He isn’t chasing the ‘Nigerian’ sound’ that you had high hopes that he will.

He isn’t doing ‘Tungba’ music either. What he is chasing is totally different from the sounds that many Nigerians expect him to push. Instead he is going the way of the Caribbean, and creating music that is cool experimentation of their dancehall template.
