A release from the office of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ahaneku, said the decision was reached at the management’s 335th regular meeting, following a report of the Students Disciplinary Committee, indicting the students.
The expelled students were directed to surrender their identity cards and any other property of the institution in their custody to the security department and to keep off entirely from the university premises.
The university management also suspended one Victor Mbaegbu of the Department of Science Education for two years over a case of phone theft.
Mbaegbu, who was directed to visit the psychology department for both psychotherapy and counseling, was asked to provide evidence of having received adequate counseling before being recalled to the institution.
