Ministers Panic in FEC Meeting With Buhari's Surprise Return
Many ministers are in panic mode following the return of President Muhammadu Buhari over the weekend after a 103-day medical leave to UK. Reports claim that the ministers suspended their weekend break to return to Abuja after the president’s return. Cabinet members were reportedly surprised that they were caught unawares by the president’s return.

They were said to have known about Buhari’s return through a statement on Saturday, August 19 by his spokesman, Mr Femi Adesina. The ministers were worried as to why they were left them out of the airport reception party, but a source said the president wanted a low-profile return. The source said: “The cabinet members were actually not notified of the president’s return. If they had prior knowledge, they would have been around to welcome him.

“In fact, only Minister of FCT Mohammed Bello was on the list of those to receive the President in his capacity as the ‘governor’ of the territory. “Some other ministers merely heard the announcement and decided to proceed to the airport in line with official norms. “Those who were out of Abuja on assignment in some states hurriedly came back to welcome the president. “These ministers are worried about Buhari’s plans for them.”

Meanwhile, President Buhari has stated that Nigeria must remain one, stressing that the unity of the country is not negotiable. The president stated this in a live broadcast earlier today, Monday, August 21 which was televised live on national television. The president urged Nigerians to work towards the co-existence of all nationalities in the country, even as he warned that his government will not tolerate inflammatory comments from Nigerians. “The national consensus is that it is better we live together than to live apart. We must eschew our differences and work together for the lasting peace of Nigeria,” President Buhari said.
