The official website of the Senate in Nigeria has been shutdown by the host provider due to failure to make payment or breaking of rules set by hosting provider - like overusing bandwidth or other resources.

A lot of Nigerians have expressed their displeasure at the failure of the senate to maintain a website.  A comment read: "And yet our National Assembly and SINATORS budget 150 Billion Naira for themselves every year and included in this "budget" is money for overhead costs such as maintaining office complexes, library and keeping a functional website."
