Shakira Resumes World Tour After Lima Hospital Stay

The 48-year-old singer-songwriter had to cancel a gig on Sunday after visiting the ER on Saturday night and being briefly admitted to the hospital.

On Monday, Shakira announced on Instagram that the National Stadium in Lima will open its gates at 4:00 pm (2100 GMT) for a show that is scheduled to begin at 8:15 pm.

Her health was not mentioned in the post.

The concert that had to be canceled on Sunday will have a new date soon, according to events provider Masterlive, which also confirmed that Monday's planned performance will proceed.

For the first time in seven years, Shakira is touring the world.

A few days after she won a Grammy for best Latin pop album, the song, "Las mujeres ya no lloran" (Women Don't Cry Anymore), debuted in Rio de Janeiro.

The musician gave the honor to American immigrants who are being deported under President Donald Trump.

Shakira is one of the most well-known Latin musicians of all time, having sold over 90 million records worldwide and won four Grammy Awards, among many other honors.

By the end of June, she plans to play almost 50 events across Latin America before doing more shows in the US and Canada.
