Celebrity Confession: Baba Tee's Surprising Apology Explained

Well-known Yoruba Nollywood actor Babatunde Tayo, sometimes as Baba Tee, has gone clean and acknowledged that he had a "brief" sexual encounter with Dara, a comedian and sketch creator who is also Lande's wife.

In a live conversation with socialite Esabod and other TikTokers on Sunday, Baba Tee revealed the information.

His admission refuted his earlier denial on the same matter, in which he threatened to prosecute Lande for defaming him unless he produced proof that he actually had an affair with his wife.

Remember how Lande said in a previous interview that he found out his wife had cheated on him and that at least 21 men in the entertainment business had slept with her?

Baba Tee, whom he mentioned in the viral interview and an Instagram post, was one of the people he called out.

Baba Tee refuted the claim that he had an affair with Lande's wife, claiming that he had only met her once, through the actress Marygold, last year.

The 45-year-old actor clarified that he only learned her true identity after listening in on a conversation between her and Marygold, who had presented her as a content producer and up-and-coming artist.

In a recent development, though, Baba Tee acknowledged having sex with Lande's wife, saying that it was a brief sexual encounter that was unplanned but occurred because he was intoxicated while playing the game "Truth or Dare" with Dara and Marygold.

"When Marygold and Dara visited my home," he continued. Marygold didn't tell me she was bringing anyone with her, but she said she wanted me to be the MC for one of her upcoming programs. Instead of introducing Dara as Lande's wife, she did so as a content developer. Before they suggested the "Truth or Dare" game, they started to inquire about my link to Qatar.

"So as soon as we started the game, Marygold became completely nude and kept defying me to Dara while she continued drinking as a way to avoid doing the things I asked of her. Instead, they were tossing "Dare" at me instead of more "Truth."

"Dara accepted Marygold's challenge to allow me to have a "quick" sexual encounter with her. Marygold never referred to Lande's wife as such; instead, she labeled her a content producer, which is why I stated that I never had sex with her. Although this is the first time I've mentioned it, I won't deny that I briefly had sex with her. I've now learned that it was a plot by both of them to discredit my character.

Esabod suggested that Baba Tee formally apologize Lande once the truth came to light because it was more of a betrayal because the actor had previously denied having an affair with his wife and threatened to sue the comic.

Babatee responded to the interview by apologizing to Lande in a brief statement posted on his official Facebook page on Monday.

"I sincerely apologize from the bottom of my heart, brother, Lande," he wrote. How did Dara get married to Lande without telling me? Hmm. I'm afraid of ladies.

Marigold, the troubled manager of Ijoba Lande, was accused of recording Baba Tee and Dara's exchange.
