Funke Akindele once paid me N90k after 1 month on set – Actor Ijoba Lande

Ijoba Lande, a Nigerian comedian and content producer, has claimed that he worked on a set with famous actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele for a whole month and was only paid N90,000.

The sketch creator described his experience in an internet video, saying that he had enthusiastically joined Akindele's production team at Amen Estate without first negotiating a fee.

He had anticipated that the chance would increase his visibility and result in additional partnerships.

He claims that a team member named Wendy gave him a contract detailing his terms of payment when he first arrived on set.

"To avoid giving the impression that she wouldn't work with me again, I didn't bother charging Aunty Funke because I was so excited to go and work with her," he said.

He claimed to have been shocked to learn that the document said he would receive N90,000 per month.

He signed it in spite of his misgivings, thinking the matter would be taken up later.

He only received the agreed-upon sum at the end of the month, nevertheless, with no modifications.

I spent a whole month working with Aunty Funke Akindele at Amen Estate. Funke Akindele did not give me 150,000 for a whole month. In the name of the Almighty God, I swear," he said.

He advised aspiring entertainers not to idolise established figures at the expense of their own worth.
