Funke Akindele, a famous Nigerian actress-turned-politician, has announced her political plans after an unsuccessful prior attempt.
According to DOROTV, the actress was the running mate of Abdulazeez Adediran, the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) Lagos State governorship candidate in 2023.
Following their loss by Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Funke Akindele deleted all politically relevant postings from her social media page.
However, in response to her loss during her most recent interview on the premiere live episode of the 'WithChude' podcast, the actress, who had been mute on political topics since 2023, stated plans to run again.

She stated, "I need to support. I need to give back. That's why I entered politics. After getting involved, witnessing violence and shouting, I began to follow female politicians such as Mummy Abike Dabiri and others. They speak in a way that commands respect and authority. I'm like, "You, too, can do it."
"I stood and spoke. I learned from there that you must be bold, courageous, and strong. What would be would become. Fear will only keep you in one spot. So I learned all of this while working in politics, and I became acquainted with a large number. I became more informed and knowledgeable.
