Celebrated Nollywood Star Nkechi Nweje Passes Away: A Look at Her Legacy

Following a brief illness, Nollywood actress Nkechi Nweje passed away.
Movie producer Stanley Ajemba, better known by his stage name Stanley Ontop, confirmed Nweje's passing on Saturday through his Instagram account.
Ajemba praised Nweje, calling her his dearest friend and a dynamic actress.
He remembered that she had told him to stop talking when they had last spoken during the Queen's saga.
He added, "After a brief illness, one of our vibrant Nollywood actresses, @nkechi.nweje, passed away, leaving Nollywood in tears."

On Friday, Rita Edochie, another seasoned Nollywood actress, posted a candlelight image on Instagram with a dark backdrop and the words, "This world is really not our home."
Asa Ikuku, an actor, also announced the actress's passing on his Instagram account.
"Mummy Nkwechi Nweje TV (Nwanyi Onisha), you are truly a blessing to us. Rest in peace." However, God is the most knowledgeable. We will really miss you, wonderful Nollywood actress. Legend, rest in peace," Ikuku wrote.

Nweje is survived by her husband, Dr. Azuibuike Nweje, and six children.
