Jide Kosoko Reveals the Dark Side of the Movie Industry and How to Navigate It

In response to the contentious topic of sex-for-roles in the Nigerian film business, veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko said that some actresses intentionally enter the field with the goal of utilizing sexual connections to further their careers.

In a recent interview with the Honest Bunch podcast, Jide Kosoko expressed his opinions and disputed the widely held belief that producers and directors always place these demands on women.

He emphasized that no one may be forced to have sex in order to fulfill a role.

If I asked you to warm my bed so I could assign you a task and you refused, they couldn't make you do it. And you want to dance to his tone if you want that job at any costs," he clarified.

The seasoned actor explained that although such requests are improper, the final say in the matter belongs to the parties concerned.

"I'm not saying it's appropriate to have presented that to you, but it's your own business if you fall for it. How is the entire world concerned about that? "Forget about all this sex-for-roles stuff," Kosoko said.

He continued by saying that some ladies purposefully take advantage of these circumstances in order to get notoriety in Nollywood.

I know some women who enter the field with the same resolve that they will be recognized by the time they "sleep with this and sleep with that." I am aware of a few well-known actresses. "I even know a magistrate," he disclosed.
