Breaking: The Nollywood Community Mourns the Loss of Monalisa Stephen

Following internal hemorrhage and low blood sugar, Nollywood actress and body positivity activist Monalisa Stephen was officially declared dead.

According to a close relative, the tragic event took place in Lagos on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.

Chief Executive Officer of Best of Nollywood (BON), Seun Oloketuyi, announced the news on his official Instagram page Wednesday morning.

"Monalisa Ayobami Stephen, a brand influencer, passed away. She lost the battle against low blood sugar and internal hemorrhage, and she passed away yesterday in Lagos. The demise of this diligent and kind soul was confirmed by her immediate younger sister," he stated.

The development was also confirmed by a Vanguard-affiliated source.

Prior to her passing, Monalisa was well-known for her views on mental health, body image, and self-love, which frequently sparked contentious discussions on the internet.
