Along with thousands of other internet users, well-known Afrobeat artist Davido has called for VeryDarkMan's release from custody.

According to the DAILY POST, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, arrested Wellknown social media critic VeryDarkMan on Friday for an unspecified violation.

VeryDarkMan had stated prior to his detention that he would be visiting an Abuja GTBank branch to lodge a complaint regarding a purported depletion from his mother's account.

It's unclear as of the time this report was filed if VeryDarkMan was detained outside or inside the GTBank.

Online responses to his arrest have been mixed, with celebrities and other netizens demanding his release.

Davido responded to the news by calling for VeryDarkMan's release in a post on X.

While acknowledging the public support for VeryDarkMan, Davido wrote; “Outside all the noise it’s good to see that the good one does actually impacts lives and people actually appreciate! The support I’m getting for VDM everywhere is heartening, makes one want to do more for the masses. SET MY GUY FREE.
