Northwest Governors Unite to Combat Rising Insecurity and More

North West Governors met in Kaduna on Friday night to discuss urgent challenges impacting the region, including insecurity, unemployment and rampant drug usage.

The purpose of the meeting, which was held at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, was to promote cooperation and create plans to deal with these issues.

Umar Dikko Radda (Katsina), the chairman of the Northwest Governors' Forum, revealed that the seven states have decided to cooperate in order to address the problems.

He stated: "We just wrapped up our meeting, and the discussion was really productive."

"We had presentations from the Northwest Development Commission and the Federal Medical University Funtua for the region, and we had a lengthy discussion on issues and challenges affecting our region."

The governors looked into possible partnerships with development partners and talked about strategies to stop excessive drug use. Dr. Radda underlined the value of cooperation in bringing about the region's required development.

"To bring about the necessary development that is required in the region, we have all agreed to work together on these issues raised," he stated.

According to Uba Sani, the governor of Kaduna, poverty, unemployment, and drug addiction are pressing problems that need to be addressed right away.

"We are collaborating closely with development partners to find long-term solutions to the issues affecting the zone, and we are working together to tackle issues affecting the region," he stated.
