We’re not under siege, no break down of security – Kogi govt
The government of Kogi State has promised that law and order will not collapse anywhere in the state.
According to Kingsley Fanwo, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, security authorities are trying to eliminate all threats, therefore the state is not under siege.
Fanwo told reporters in Lokoja on Friday that Yagba West's security situation is entirely under the state government's control.
"We are navigating the delicate balance between urgency and caution to avoid making matters worse," he stated. The government is keeping a close eye on the situation, and our actions are planned, directed, and strategic.

There is no area of Kogi where security has failed or will fail. In order to eliminate any threat to peace and stability in our state, we have advanced in our cooperation with national security structures.
The Commissioner praised grassroots security groups and local security structures like the Okun hunters for their crucial role in preserving law and order.
Fanwo disclosed, "His Excellency has given the State Security Adviser a marching order to deepen community push-back mechanisms against insecurity, and these community-based efforts are critical to our overall strategy."

He clarified that while government information has identified the location of some criminal members, operational measures are being carefully carried out to prevent collateral harm.
