About 12 prisoners were able to escape during the jailbreak, which took place in the early hours of Monday, according to a report by DoroTV.
Tunji-Ojo ordered an immediate inquiry after the event, stressing that the escapees' apprehension would be facilitated by the employment of the Nigeria Correctional Service's (NCoS) cutting-edge biometric technology and other technological solutions.
Later, the NCoS verified that seven of the 12 escapees were still at large and that five had already been apprehended.
In an appearance on Channels Television on Thursday, the minister said that the jailbreak was the consequence of "insider involvement" rather than an outside attack.
He blamed some jail guards' carelessness for the occurrence.

The minister stated that an inquiry into the incident is still ongoing and that about seven of the escapees had been apprehended again.
"Let me clarify that it was an insider attack; we never had a jail attack," he stated. Nothing was broken, no walls were broken.

Since the matter is still being investigated, I wouldn't say it was intentional just yet.
But the important thing to remember is that the entire site is safe, and the outer fencing was constructed by this administration.
