The meeting also included Femi Gbajabiamila, the President's Chief of Staff; Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser; Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL); Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation; and other ministers and aides.
The conference came after a coalition of civil society organisations urged that the Federal Government allocate $1 trillion for Niger Delta cleaning and compensation for lost livelihoods before restarting crude oil production in Ogoniland.
The meeting occurred after a protracted conflict between Fubara and Wike, who were previously political partners. Wike previously served as governor of the oil-rich South-South state.

Following the meeting, Tinubu asked the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, to organize negotiations with various stakeholders in Ogoniland, located in the oil-rich Niger Delta region, to resume oil production in the area.
The President stated that his administration would prioritise peace, justice, and sustainable development in the region.
Tinubu appealed for unity and reconciliation, calling the Ogoni people to put aside past grudges and work together to achieve peace, development, and a cleaner environment.
"We cannot alter history, but we can address certain historical anomalies moving ahead. "We cannot heal the wounds if we continue to be angry," Tinubu stated, according to a statement from presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga.
