Tompolo Confirms: The Significance of Fubara's Return
Fubara will return to his seat – Tompolo
Nearly a month after Rivers State declared a state of emergency, former MEND leader High Chief (Dr.) Government Ekpemupolo, often known as Tompolo, has spoken out, promising that suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara will resume his duties.

Tompolo made the announcement on Saturday at the Aziza Temple in Gbaramatu Kingdom, where he was celebrating his 54th birthday.

Speaking to the crowd, the Egbesu Chief Priest also discussed the INEC ward delineation report in the Warri Federal Constituency and reaffirmed his dedication to the Ijaw people in the face of accusations that he had betrayed them by remaining silent about the current situation in Rivers.

People claim that by keeping quiet regarding Governor Fubara's removal, I betrayed the Ijaw people. However, I have fought for the Ijaw people my entire life, therefore I cannot betray them," Tompolo said.

Recognizing his connection with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, he said that Wike's ascent to prominence as Rivers State governor was aided by the Ijaw people. However, Tompolo urged resentful Ijaws to put Wike's divisive comments regarding the Ijaw country aside.

"That kind of language is beyond our ability to respond to. He asserted that the Ijaw nation has progressed beyond that point.

Assuring the Rivers people and the Ijaw nation that Governor Fubara would return to office soon, Tompolo disclosed that talks between Wike and Fubara are still going on to work out their issues.

"All that is lost will be restored since I have sat on my father's throne. There is no way to defeat the Ijaw people. Even the skies will back us if we decide to go to war. "I have never engaged in combat and lost a battle," he declared firmly.

Regarding national leadership, Tompolo said, "Let us continue to support President Tinubu." There is support for President Bola Tinubu. There is nothing wrong with him, and he will benefit the Ijaw Nation.

Tompolo emphasized historical and demographic facts to clarify that Ijaws and Itsekiris are not foes in relation to the controversial INEC ward delineation issue.
