Gov Yusuf to spend N20 billion to build four roads in Kano

By spending more over N20 billion to repair and upgrade four important roads in the metropolitan local government areas, the Kano government has started a huge infrastructure development project.

This project intends to increase Kano's economic activity, transportation flow, and road connectivity.

This was revealed in Kano on Wednesday by Marwan Ahmad, the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure.

Rebuilding Ashton Road to Airport Road to Club Road to MM Way Roundabout is costing the Kano government almost N7.4 billion, he said.

N5.9 billion will be spent on the restoration and asphalt overlay of the Triumph roundabout, the airport gate, the MM Way Flyover, and the KSIP roundabout.

According to Mr. Ahmad, "we are also spending over N2 billion on the rehabilitation and asphalt overlay of Sabo Bakin Zuwo Road and over N4.1 billion on the rehabilitation and asphalt overlay of Muhammadu Buhari Road."

In order to improve Kano's road infrastructure and reduce traffic, the commissioner also disclosed that five more mega-road projects were planned.
