The Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, maintained the legitimacy of the Kano State Government's acts concerning chieftaincy appointments and the reorganization of the state's traditional institutions, overturning previous rulings by the Federal High Court.
In response to the recent Court of Appeal ruling that settled the long-running controversy over the Emirate Council reforms, the Kano State Government has urged all pertinent agencies, institutions, and individuals to fully comply.
The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Hon. Ibrahim Adamu; the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Musa Bello; and the Commissioner for Information, Hon. Halima Yusuf, were among the top government officials who stressed the importance of strictly adhering to the ruling during a press conference on Saturday at the NUJ Press Centre in Kano.

"The Federal High Court has quashed and set aside all of its decisions, pronouncements, and orders in this matter," stated Hon. Ibrahim Adamu. "All actions taken by the governor in accordance with the law have been fully legalized by the appellate court, which has upheld the law passed by the Kano State House of Assembly."
The administration emphasized that the ruling establishes a precedent for upholding constitutional limits in chieftaincy concerns in addition to validating its reforms.
