APC's Historic Win: All 34 Chairmanship Seats Secured in Katsina

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates have won all 34 chairmanships and 361 councillorships up for grabs in Saturday's election, according to the Katsina State Independent Electoral Commission (KTSIEC).
Lawal Faskari, the commission's head, revealed the information during a press conference in Katsina on Sunday.
Five political parties took part in the poll, according to Mr. Faskari.
The chairman listed the following parties: All Progressives Congress (APC), African Action Congress (AAC), African Democratic Party (ADC), Booth Party (BP), and Accord Party (AP).
He declared the election to be credible, free, and fair.
Mr. Faskari praised the electorate for helping to ensure that the exercise was credible and peaceful.

He also praised the commission's officials, ad hoc workers, independent election observers, and other participants for their contributions to making the exercise run well.
Relatedly, the state chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has recognized the enormous progress that the state's registered political parties have made in advancing democracy.
Salimu Lawal, the organization's chairman, and Babangida Kado, its secretary, both signed the statement.
"To our distinguished candidates who ran but lost, I applaud your bravery, tenacity, and dedication to serve our wonderful state.
"I also applaud your willingness to help the state grow and your faith in accepting systemic failure.
