Trump's Bold Military Move: Airstrikes on Houthis Claim 53 Lives

Targeting the strongholds of the Iran-backed rebels, President Donald Trump declared a series of airstrikes on Houthi-held regions in Yemen. According to the Houthis, the strikes claimed the lives of at least 53 persons. Trump promised to employ 'overwhelming lethal force' unless the rebels stopped attacking international commerce.

"To protect American assets and restore navigational freedom, our courageous Warfighters are conducting aerial attacks on terrorist bases," he wrote in a social media post.

Additionally, he threatened to hold Iran "fully accountable" for the acts of its proxies and urged them to cease aiding the Houthis. Following weeks of rising tensions, the airstrikes were launched.

According to the Houthis, there were explosions in Sanaa and Saada, their bastion city, while Hodeida, Bayda, and Marib were also damaged by airstrikes early on Sunday.
