EU's Potential Sanctions: What's Next for Russia and Belarus?

According to the European Commission, on April 8, it will talk about the extent of sanctions on Russia and Belarus with its international partners and EU member states.

The seventh meeting of the High-Level Group on Union Restrictive Measures will be chaired by Maria Luis Albuquerque, the EU's Commissioner for Financial Services and the Savings and Investments Union, on April 8.

High-level representatives of the EU member states are anticipated to talk about how to coordinate the sanctions' implementation and how to enforce them going forward in light of recent geopolitical events, the statement said.
The 27-bloc reaffirmed that the US, Japan, and the UK were among the international partners of the EU that participated in the fifth Sanctions Coordinators Forum.
It added that other countries that would open include Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, and Ukraine.
"In the Commission's global endeavor to guarantee the complete and efficient enforcement of EU sanctions, the Forum is an essential venue.
According to the statement, "it will also ensure alignment with international partners and tackle their possible circumvention through third countries."
