I never planned to be a comedienne – Skit maker Lizzy Jay reveals

Lizzy Jay, better known by her stage name Adeyela Adebola, is a well-known actress and skit creator who has disclosed that humor was never part of her first professional objective.

She revealed in a Nollywood on Radio interview that her first goals were to become a singer and a doctor.

Lizzy Jay talked about how her unexpected foray into skit-making started out of boredom when she was by herself at home.

When I began creating skits, I had nothing in mind. My goals were to pursue a career in music, education, and medicine," she stated. Making skits was merely a means of squelching boredom. I needed to accomplish something, I had my phone, and I was alone myself at home.

She went on to say that neither trends nor other content producers had any influence on her choice to do skits. It wasn't as if I had planned it or thought to imitate someone else's skits after witnessing them. "I just started making a skit because I was bored," she added.

Lizzy made her debut after one of her Facebook sketches suddenly went viral after being reposted by Nollywood star Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and other celebs.

She later became a prominent content producer and actor in Nigeria's entertainment sector as a result of the attention, which encouraged her to take skit-making seriously.

After a few celebs, like Omotola Jolade, published one of my skits from my Facebook page on Instagram, I realized it was more than just a way to kill boredom. I simply felt that I had to finish what I had begun at that time," she continued.

Lizzy also made the switch to Nollywood, where she starred in movies like The Order of Things, Dubara, and Dear Affy.
