Rivers Trans Niger Pipeline Blast: Lives Disrupted in the Wake
A portion of the Trans Niger Pipeline in Bodo Community, Gonna Local Government Area, Rivers State, has been shaken by an explosion.

Late on Monday night, an explosion happened close to the Bodo-Bonny Road, which is still under construction.

A video that surfaced Tuesday morning showed a roaring fire rapidly expanding into the mangrove, while thick black smoke billowed into the heavens.

The Bonny Export Terminal in Rivers State receives its oil supply from the TNP, a federal transport line.

According to a Renaissance Africa Energy Holdings communications representative, the company is presently investigating the event.

The historic deal between Renaissance Africa Energy Holdings and Shell to purchase all of the shares in the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria was just finalized.

According to information obtained by our journalist, the incident happened late on Monday night and started a fire that has been spreading throughout the mangrove areas.

According to information obtained, the event happened close to Bodo-Bonny Road, which is presently being built by Julius Berger Nigeria Plc as part of a collaborative funding agreement between the Federal Government of Nigeria and Nigeria LNG Limited.

Through a network of pipelines, the TNP delivers 150,000 barrels of crude oil daily to the Bonny Export Terminal.

The Renaissance media team member said the issue is being looked into, but he did not want to be named because he had not received permission to speak to the media.

As of Tuesday morning, he said, the cause of the explosion is still unknown.

"We are reacting to a report of an incident in the operation, but we are unsure if it is an explosion or not. A combined inquiry team led by a regulator is our reaction. We won't speculate," the media representative stated.

Four prosperous Nigerian independent oil and gas companies—ND Western Limited, Aradel Holdings Plc, FIRST Exploration and Petroleum Development Company Limited, and the Waltersmith Group—with significant operational experience in the Niger Delta and Petrolin, an international energy company with experience in international trade and a pan-African perspective, make up Renaissance Africa Energy Holdings.
