Tinubu Urged by Obi to Illuminate Corrupt Politicians & military officials Backing Boko Haram

Mr. Obi's call comes after Babagana Zulum, the governor of Borno State, recently claimed that certain military officers and politicians act as informants for Boko Haram militants.

In an interview with News Central's Breakfast Central on Wednesday, Mr. Zulum charged Nigerian politicians and military with being Boko Haram collaborators. His remarks coincide with the return of Boko Haram, a terrorist organization that has terrorized the Northeast for more than ten years.

Mr. Obi praised Mr. Zulum for speaking truth to power and urged the Nigerian government to act quickly on the news.

Mr. Obi stated in a statement on Thursday that "the federal government must treat this revelation with the utmost urgency; words are not enough." "The enemies within are only strengthened by the silence and inaction that frequently follow such explosive disclosures."

Mr. Zulum's outcry was deemed startling and terrible by the politician: "And if accurate, it validates what many Nigerians have long feared: that betrayal at the highest levels is causing our nation to bleed, in addition to external attacks."

Mr. Obi demanded for their immediate prosecution, calling them Nigerian traitors and citizens working with terrorists.

Let me state unequivocally that anyone, regardless of position, title, or political office, who supports, encourages, shields, or works with terrorists is betraying the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Such people have no place in our institutions and need to be found, exposed, and dealt with right away," he said.

"The country cannot win the war against terrorism while traitors sit in the corridors of power, feeding off the blood of innocent Nigerians," the leader of the Labour Party said, describing the scenario as an example of the nation's moral downfall.
