Vladimir Putin addressed Russia on certain issues in his annual state of the union speech where he accused the West of teaming up with the US to cause economic problems in Russia. He warned that National pride will help Russia bounce back, and defended the annexation of Crimea as necessary to defend its people.

He also promised to re-diversify Russia's economy to technology and not just oil since the oil prices aren't stable any longer
