Ahmed Gulak Storms PDP HQ in Abuja, Declares himself National Chairman - Governor's Forum Condemn The Invansion

Yesterday, former President Jonathan aide, Ahmed Gulak walked into the PDP Secretariat in Abuja and declared himself National Chairman after a meeting with staff. Today, the PDP Governor's Forum condemned the invasion.

"The invasion of the party headquarters on Wednesday by Ahmed Gulak, who reportedly assumed the Chairmanship of the PDP, is regrettable and condemnable.
We take cognisance of the judgment by the court in Abuja which ordered the acting chairman to vacate office for any other person from the North-East zone of Nigeria. Our party constitution has enough provisions for that and the necessary process has been put in motion," the PDP Governor's Forum said in a Communique issued yesterday.

Gulak, a former Special Adviser to Jonathan on Political Matters, had declared himself the new chairman following a court ruling that asked Secondus to vacate the seat for someone from the north. The Governors Forum said they would meet soon to elect a national chairman of the party from the appropriate zone.
